Psychic predictions, generations-old secrets, a town divided, and the possibility of falling in love with a hot and heroic werewolf are the perfect formula for what happens . . . once in a full moon.The first word that comes to my mind after reading this book is Predictable. Yet, did it make it any less interesting? No. I really enjoyed it, even if I could easily guess what was about to happen. It will probably end up being like Schreiber’s other series, a guilty pleasure.
I like the romance, but the werewolf story left me skeptical. The thing is, Brandon just seems to get hairier, and of course he forgot at first what happen when he was changed. The werewolf reminded me of Big Wolf on Campus, a Canadian series than from 1999 to 2002. Not as funny as the TV series, but that’s what it reminded me off.
Celeste and Brandon romance hits off a little too fast, which reminded me of another big series that was really popular, which I won’t name (of course, you probably can guess it. Sparkly Vampires anyone?) Brandon wants to keep Celeste away at some point to protect her, which doesn’t work of course, because Celeste is too stubborn. Of course, I can’t forget about Nash, a character I wanted to kick so many times, I think I would have hurt myself.
Even though there were a lot of things that annoyed me, there was thing that made it all better. Mr. Worthington. I loved him as character, and I loved the legend. That was my favorite aspect of the book. Talking about the legend, why did I get a feeling that Nash knew more than he said about the legend? He was too freaked out about it in the wood.
Any way. Some will enjoy it; some will hate it, that’s for sure. It isn’t the best werewolf series, but I still liked it. It will probable be another one of my guilty pleasure!
