Godspeed was fueled by lies. Now it is ruled by chaos.
It's been three months since Amy was unplugged. The life she always knew is over. And everywhere she looks, she sees the walls of the spaceship Godspeed. But there may just be hope: Elder has assumed leadership of the ship. He's finally free to enact his vision - no more Phydus, no more lies.
But when Elder discovers shocking news about the ship, he and Amy race to discover the truth behind life on Godspeed. They must work together to unlock a puzzle that was set in motion hundreds of years earlier, unable to fight the romance that's growing between them and the chaos that threatens to tear them apart.
In book two of the Across the Universe trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis mesmerizes us again with a brilliantly crafted mystery filled with action, suspense, romance, and deep philosophical questions. And this time it all builds to one mind-bending conclusion: They have to get off this ship.
Sequel can sometime be disappointing, especially when you loved the first book. I have to say, this book doesn’t disappoint. I absolutely adored it! It was simply addicting. Beth Revis kept us addicted from page one. There was so much going on at the same time. I love the fact that we got to see both Elder and Amy’s point of view again. It just helps us understand what is really going on.

I find it hard to really describe what is going on in this book without giving away some major spoiler. All I could say is that we get to see Elder taking charge of the people, Amy looking to solve the mystery that Orion left behind. This is what made the novel captivating. When there wasn’t much going on in one story line, the other one had a lot going on. This is what kept me addicted. I just couldn’t put in down. I had to know what would happen next. And the ending, of course, leaves you begging for more. Even if the ending makes me want to read the third book right away, I love that the story line of A Million Suns was complete within this book. Sometime, the middle book in a series doesn’t have it’s own beginning, nor end, but this one does. That’s what makes it this amazing.

I fell in love with Beth Revis’ writing in Across the Universe. I have to say that she doesn’t disappoint with her sequel. I can’t wait to read more. It is simply that amazing. If you haven’t read Across the Universe yet, you really need to do so soon. Don’t let yourself be put off by the Sci-Fi aspect. I’m not a big fan of Science Fiction, yet I’ve loved this novel. It is simply more than that.

  1. I enjoyed this one when I read it, but it didn't stick out in my mind as much. I actually enjoyed the first one better. Great review, and glad you enjoyed it!

  3. A million suns explores individuals on the Godspeed, and the ship itself too. The twist was just as exciting as it was in Across the Universe. I was really afraid that this book just wouldn't live up to the first book, but it certainly does. At the beginning of this one I was a little doubtful but I got totally lost in it. Beth Revis writes beautifully, if you just listen to the words you're reading it paints a gorgeous picture you can't help but fall in love with either book.
