The question of the week:

Q. How has your reading habits changed since you were a teen? or If you are still a teen what new genres are you in love with currently?

The big difference in my reading habits in the last few years is that I now read a lot more of YA than I used to read. When I was younger, I thought I was cool because I was reading adult books when all my friends were reading children books instead. I was reading a lot of Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark and Chuck Palahniuk Now, I read mostly YA, because it is the kind of book that I connect the most with.

The other big difference is that I now read mostly in English, simply because I prefer to read the authors' words instead of the translators' words.

What about you?

  2. I started reading YA lit now, too. When I was a teen, I just loathed them. Stupid, angsty, etc.

    Here's my FF: http://sinnfulbooks.blogspot.com/2011/08/follow-friday_12.html

  3. I read a lot more YA now than I did as an actual teen, too - weird, isn't it? I'm impressed that you can read in more than one language; that's a particular ambition of mine.

  5. My habits have changed a whole lot too! I'm a huge mixer these days too, and usually mix between genres I've jumped from in the past. I've also recently started reading in English (from Sweden), because I definitely prefer the original language and also Sweden is very behind on paranormal and more romantic novels. Still prefer their thrillers. ;) LOL.

Have a great weekend! I'm following. :) My answer can be found here!

  7. I remember when I was really little, I had a version of Black Beauty that was over 200 pages and I was always so proud reading it when everyone else's books were short, picture books.

  8. When I was a teen I liked to read murder mystery's from Mary Higgins Clark.Or true life stuff from Ann Rule. I was also really into books by Christopher Pike and R.L. Stine. Once I started reading YA books I couldn't get enough my bookshelf tripled in size. Oh and it takes a lot less time to read a book, a day or two depending on the size and the story.

  10. Love the design of your blog! Isn't it funny that we tend to read more adult books as teens and then do a reverse when we get older? Maybe we're trying to stay young:)
