Bout of Books Read-a-Thon: Goals and Updates

I’m really excited to take part of the Bout of Books Read-a-thon once again. I’ve decided to do both general goals, and some more precise. One of my goals is simply to read daily. I haven’t had time to read daily in the last month, but I want to change that.

Another goal of mine is to write some reviews. I want to write at least 10 this week, since I’m REALLY behind.

When it comes down to read books, I want to read at least 10 books this week (yes, I have a thing about the number 10)

Here are some of the books I want to read:
(list might change during the week)
- How I Lost You by Janet Gurtler
-The Brokenhearted by Amelia Kahaney
- Spirit by Brigid Kemmerer
- The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen
- Gameboard of the Gods by Richelle Mead
- Tarnish by Katherine Longshore
- Belladonna by Fiona Paul
- Earthbound by Aprilynne Pike
- Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke
- The Theory of Everything by Kari Luna

Bout of Books Read-a-thon:

Bout of Books

I'm participating to Bout of Books once again! For those of you who don't know what Bout of Books read-a-thon is, here is the official blurb:

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 7.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

My official goals will be up on the blog tomorrow, since I haven't decided exactly what I want to do. One thing is for sure, I do want to include writing reviews as one of my goals.

Are you participating? You can still join the read-a-thon if you want!

Bout of Books Read-a-thon 6.0: Wrap-Up

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

Bout of Books 6.0 is now over, and I have to say that I didn’t read as many books as I had hoped. A few things happened this week that weren’t really expected. I knew I was starting this new semester on Monday, but I didn’t think I would have an essay to write for tomorrow (seriously, who does that? An essay due the second week worth 20% is simply mean.) Then my dad had surgery this week, which really wasn’t scheduled. That took priority over whatever I wanted to read.

Now, let’s see what I did read:

Tempest by Julie Cross
Indigo Awakening by Jordan Dane (eARC)
Nobody by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (ARC)
Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi (Audiobook)

Read at least 2 eARCs (Only read 1)
Listen to at least one audiobook (SUCCESS)!
Read at least 1 ARC (SUCCESS!)
BONUS: Write at least 7 reviews (wrote 3 reviews…)

How did you guys do this time? I already can’t wait for the next Bout of Books Read-a-thon. Hopefully, I’ll do better next time!

Bout-of-books 5.0: Wrap-up

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is over, and I have to say I'm quite happy with the result. Here it is:

-Read at least one book every day. (Check! 8 books read!)
-Read at least 2 ARCs from BEA. (
-Read at least 1 eARC form NetGalley
-Listen to at least one audiobook

Here is the list of books I've read:

After Hello by Lisa Mangum (BEA)
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (BEA)
Who I Kissed by Janet Gurtler
A Tale Dark & Grimm by Adam Gidwitz
The Edge of Nowhere by Elizabeth George
Send by Patty Blount (NetGalley)
Gilt by Katherine Longshore (Audiobook)
Henry Frank by Peter Adam Salomon (BEA)

Considering I have been working pretty much all week (My only day off was Saturday...) , I'm really happy with the result. I read 7 books, and I listened to one audiobook. This means I've met all my goals. Yay! The only thing I wish I had done was write more reviews, but I guess I'll have to do a review-a-thon at some point before the back to school.
