Alex Kosmitoras’s life has never been easy. The only other student who will talk to him is the school bully, his parents are dead-broke and insanely overprotective, and to complicate matters even more, he's blind. Just when he thinks he'll never have a shot at a normal life, a new girl from India moves into town. Simmi is smart, nice, and actually wants to be friends with Alex. Plus she smells like an Almond Joy bar. Yes, sophomore year might not be so bad after all.
Unfortunately, Alex is in store for another new arrival—an unexpected and often embarrassing ability to “see” the future. Try as he may, Alex is unable to ignore his visions, especially when they begin to suggest that Simmi is in danger. With the help of the mysterious psychic next door and new friends who come bearing gifts of their own, Alex must embark on a journey to change his future.

When I was first ask to participate in the blog tour for this book, I was really curious. I had never heard of this book before, but I decided to give it a chance. It actually didn’t disappoint me. It actually really surprised me in a good way.

If I’m honest, I wasn’t sure at first I would really enjoy this book. Within the first few pages were a couple of things that got on my nerves. At the beginning of every chapter, there’s a couple of sentence telling you what “Our Hero” is about to live. That really got on my nerves. I don’t know why, it reminded me of those bad sitcoms….

The thing is, after a few chapters, I stopped seeing them (or rather reading them), which helped me get into the story. Once I got into the story, I ended up really enjoying it. Mind you, it won’t make my top ten this year, but I found that Farsighted was worth the read.

Alex didn’t really captivated me at first, simply because I thought he fell for Simmi a little too fast. That did bother me a little at first, but once they ended being friends for a while, it stopped bothering me. The other thing about the characters that sometimes bothered me was the reaction they had. They were confusing, because they were reacting to the news that should either creep them out, or scare them without even blinking. I did like the way Alex reacted to the news of his gift. He doesn’t accept it right away, which would have really bothered me..

Overall, I really enjoyed it. I’m happy to have been lucky enough to read this.

  1. Thank you so much for taking a chance on me and giving Farsighted a bit of TLC. It's funny, people seem to either love or hate the rune prophecies at the beginning of each chapter - they can be totally ignored without losing anything, but for those who like to sleuth, I thought that they added a bit o' fun :-D
