I’m ashamed. So ashamed that it took me so long to pick this book up. I fell in love with it. I’m already reading the second one, and I have already bought the third one. This book is simply excellent. I love the characters. Katniss is everything you could want from a main character. She isn’t perfect. It’s normal, she’s human. But she has this strength, this fire and this love in her that makes you cheer for her.
The plot is excellent. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to know what would happen next to her. Would she die? Would she kill? Who will survive? I had to know what would come next, which is one of the reasons why I had to read the second one. Collins writes in a way that makes you hungry for more.
Do not let yourself be turned off by the cover, like I was. The expression “Do not judge a book by its cover” is true here.
