So I just bought this book from Amazon, and I read it yesterday afternoon. It took me a couple of hour to read it. It was a really short novel. I bought this book because I heard some good comments about it online. I decided to give it a shot.

It took me some time to get into the story. I don’t know why, but I thought the beginning seemed childish to me. Still, the second half really got me. It was really good, and I couldn’t put it down. It just was a really cute and entertaining series. It felt like a guilty pleasure almost, as it is not what I usually read. It was the first time I read about Mermaids. It was a good beginning for a series. The only thing that really annoyed me was the epilogue. It was unnecessary. It was only about opening a door to a sequel, which I didn’t like. The real ending is good. It should have ended there.

The characters were okay. Lily annoyed me by moment, but I totally adore Quince. He is just so much fun! I think he is sweet, even if he is sometime a jerk. Other than that, none of the characters really made a big impression on me. They were just there to me.

The writing was okay. It kept me entertaining, and that’s the point, isn’t?

I would compare this series to House of Night. The story isn’t similar, but it gives me the same feeling of guilty pleasure.

I would give it a 6/10. It was interesting, but I wouldn’t put it at the top of my list. I’m still curious for the sequel.

I was really excited about reading this book. After all, I LOVE the Women of The Otherworld series, and I had heard so many great comments about Armstrong’s YA series. Yet, it wasn’t as good as I was expected. I just was disappointed, because I was really hoping to love it. I liked it, just not enough to go to all my friends and tell them they should read it NOW.

The book was really slow for me at first. I just couldn’t get into the story. It took me 150 pages to really get into it. After that, I was captivated, but this first part is one of the reason I was disappointed in this book. As good as the plot was, I just needed a little something more. The ending is killing me, to be honest. I really want to know what happen to everyone. I have to; it will probably keep me up tonight… It shows that she already knew this would be a series, because the ending screams “Sequel!”

I like Derek so much! There is something about him that makes him such an interesting character. His brother Simon didn’t interest me as much. I’m rooting for the big guy! Chloe was great to me. She reacted in a normal way. It would have really sucked if she just had accepted that she could see ghosts. That wouldn’t have been realistic. Other than that, the characters didn’t make any big impression on me. Except maybe for Rae, I feel like her real problem isn’t fire, but attention. Maybe not as extreme as Tori, who completely annoy me in a good way, but it is still there.

I love Kelley Armstrong. I think she’s an amazing writer, but I don’t think it is her best work ever. I think her adult series was better. Yet, it won’t stop me from buying the sequel really soon, so I can know what will happen next for Chloe and company.

It is a great first book for this series. Based on just the first one, I wouldn’t tell you to put it on the top of your list, but maybe the sequel will change my mind!

It took me a while to write this review, I don’t know why. I read it last week, but I just couldn’t really put words on why I liked it. I guess you could read my review of the first of the Soul Screamer series HERE.

The plot is interesting, but I must say it wasn’t as good as the first. I really wanted to know what would happen in the sequel, and I still want to know what will happen next. Yet, it just didn’t make me super excited.

The characters were okay. I really like Nash, but Kaylee ended up annoying me in this one. She is just too much into risking her life to save someone else’s. It got on my nerves.

I like Rachel Vincent, but I’m not as excited for the third book, as I was for the sequel. I will still buy it and read it.

I would give this one a 7/10, just because I didn’t like it as much as My Soul To Take.

I know this is a really short review, but I currently working on too many essays at the same time. At least, I know I’m going to the university of my choice next Fall, as long as I pass all my classes!

I was so excited about this book. I was expecting so much that I was really scared about being disappointed. Was I? Well… Definitely NOT! I absolutely adore this book, and I’m already dying for the sequel.

First of all, I must say that I had one thing going on my mind when I started this book and it was literally: what the heck is going on! A world where women die at 20 and men at 25? That would mean that I have not even two years left! That’s depressing. Yet the story is so captivating that you end up unable to put it down. There is just always something going one! The ending made me so sad, and yet happy. I was happy for one character, and I was devastated for the other. I was just into the story I guess.

The characters were amazing. I really like Rhine. She is so strong and so nice. I don’t think I would have had her strength in this situation. Cecily was such a brat, yet I still liked her in a way. Jenna was a bitchy, but fun character. Gabriel wasn’t my favorite, but I still liked him. My favorite was Linden. There is just something so sweet and so sad about him. He is too naïve for is own good. He is too innocent, yet is father is so evil in a way. I would have fallen for Linden if I were Rhine, even if I was kidnapped to be a wife. He is just too sweet. Well, that’s my opinion.

DeStefano is probably my favorite debut author this year. I love this book, and I am now dying for a sequel. I love it.

This book is worth a well-deserved 10/10. If you haven’t picked this book yet, go get it now. It is extremely good!

I had really enjoyed The Forest of Hands of Teeth, so I had to read this book. Plus, the third book of this series came out last Tuesday. It was the perfect timing for me to finally read it. (This book has been in my TBR pile for three weeks.)

First of all, as many of you may know, this is not a direct sequel. It’s the story of Gabry, Mary’s daughter (who is the narrator of The Forest of Hands and Teeth). My first question when I learned that was: OMG WHO’S THE FATHER. Well, I won’t tell you, you’ll have to find out for yourself!

The story is just as breath taking as the first one. There is everything you need to make a good book: Love, drama, zombies (or Mudo, as they are called in this book.)… Ryan simply knows how to keep her reading addicted to her characters. There is always something going one, making you hoping, dreaming and wondering. She keeps you captivated until the last line. The ending broke my heart, as her characters still aren’t able to find the peace they deserve. After all they have been through, they do deserve a little peace with their loved one (Hopefully, they will get it in the last book!)

I really liked the characters, but less that I did with Mary, Harry and company. I miss Mary as a main character. She was such a strong and impulsive character, where Gabry seems sometimes too scared. Yet, you can see that Gabry grows a lot in this book. At first, she just seems unable to really make up her mind, unless someone gives her a little push in one direction (not always the right one). There were two characters that slightly annoyed me, yet I can’t really say why. Cira and Catcher just weren’t my favorite. Well, I probably didn’t like Catcher that much simply because I totally adore Elias. Elias is just the strongest character of this book. I adore him, and I do hope we see him again in The Dark and Hollow Places.

Ryan makes me want to run to the bookstore to buy The Dark and Hollow places. She simply knows how to create the most really story you can possibly writes with Zombies (I do think that if it were to happens, the world would probably end up that way, but that’s my personally opinion.)

I really enjoy this book. Yet, I still believe the first one was really better, so I would give this one a well-deserved 9/10!

First, I must warn you that this series is for 18 and older. It has sex, violence and coarse language.

This will be one of the shortest reviews I have ever done. Why?

I loved this series. The second generation is my favorite, so I was happy that it was about them. The writing is not the best, but I still enjoyed it. It includes the same characters that we followed in the series, which I loved.

So, if you have seen this series and loved it, you should check this book. If not, start with the TV show. It’s really the same kind of series.

It makes me miss this gang. Loved them. Wish they could be back.

This book has been in my TBR pile for over a while. I finally read it, and I honestly loved it. I picked it up because the book itself is gorgeous (and I love the texture of the cover) I must say, the book is as good as it looks.

The plot was good. It was intriguing, interesting and mysterious. For me, it wasn’t the element that really made me love this book, but it was still pretty close. I really liked the ending; it couldn’t have ended better for me. I can’t wait to get more from this series (I do hope I have the right information. This has to be a series; I will die if I don’t find out what will happen with Theia and Haden.) I loved it.

Now here is my favorite part of the book: The characters. First, Theia was the perfect mix of strength and weakness. I found her to be believable, and she wasn’t annoying at all, which I like. I loved her friends. They were just the right kind of characters to balance Theia’s strength and weakness, without being annoying (Yes, I often do find characters annoying) my favorite was definitely Haden. Mysterious, sexy and kind of old school in the way he talks, he is the perfect male character. His bad side keeps you addicted, and his good side makes you fall for him. I’m still dreaming of him *sigh*.

Hayes writes beautifully. I can’t wait to read more from her (and hopefully this series) I simply loved every second of it.

I have been waiting for a while to read this one. I always saw it at the bookstore, but I never ended up buying it. I don’t really know why. The cover really made me curious, I thought it looks gorgeous. I had heard good review about it too. Yet, it took me a while to read it.

I was expecting so much from this book, and I felt a little disappointed by the story. It just didn’t really feel that original. Yet, the story really got me. I couldn’t put that book down. The ending was okay; I just think she could have ended it a little sooner. I don’t know why, but I feel like the last chapter isn’t important, and it should maybe have been kept for the sequel.

The characters were good, yet I was disappointed by the choices Cassia made. I’m so Team Xander, I think he is such an amazing character. He was my favorite. I simply don’t like Ky. There is just something off about him. I can’t put my finger on it, but I just don’t like him. Cassia was great sometimes, but she could be a real idiot. She just seems like she is a really strong young women, and the next second, she can’t seem to decide by herself. That slightly annoyed me.

Yet, Condie made me unable to put down this book. I had to know what would happen. She writes beautifully, and she got me captivated from the start. I can’t wait for the sequel to come out, so I can finally know where Cassia will end up.

Great book, but it just didn’t meet my expectations. 8/10

OMG. I can’t believe this book has been waiting for almost THREE weeks in my TBR pile. It is simply excellent. I had heard so many great comments about this; I had to see for myself. I must say I wasn’t disappointed.

I thought the story was original. I love her morbid power, and I love what it brings to the story. The book isn’t only about discovering the killer. Girls, here come the wonderful story of a growing relationship between two best friends. The end almost killed me. It was simply a rollercoaster of emotions (yes, I’m one of those readers that can become a little to emotionally connected to the characters. It can sucks when you’re in public…) It got me addicted so fast, I ended up forgetting about my amazing English essay (which I’m handing today) just so I could finish this book. (No, I did not procrastinate. I’m so not that kind of girl… Okay, I am, but who can blame me?

I loved the characters. Violet is a really great character, and I love the relationship she has with Jay. I love reading about their interaction, and seeing how being in love can sometime make us stupid… *Sigh* I’m still waiting for my own Jay…

Kimberly Derting is an amazing storyteller. I was captivated by her words, her story. I really have to pick Desires of the Dead, because I am hungry for more.

Honestly, if you haven’t read this book, go read it now. It is an excellent book. Loving it!

I finally was able to get this book. After having spent the entire day yesterday working on my English essay, I decided to give myself a well-deserved break by going to Indigo. What did I find? THIS BOOK! I just had to buy it then. After all, I really wanted to read it. I ended up starting it in the Metro, and I wasn’t able to put it down until I had read it all, which means at midnight (Which was a bad idea, as I had gym class this morning. I’m so dead…)

The story is good, funny and extremely entertaining. There is everything you need to create an entertaining book. I laugh so much while reading it, I must have look really crazy in the Metro. Oh well, it was worth it. The ending is honestly killing me, because I really want to know what will happen! I don’t want to say too much, because I don’t want to give anything away, but I simply can say that I’ve loved it.

You finally get to know the father of Sophie. He as the same kind of sarcastic and witty comments Sophie has, which I love. What can I say about Sophie? I love her more and more every time. She is growing as a character, but what I really like about her is her personality and her comments. She just makes me laugh. Cal seems a little strange to me. I can’t seem to decide if I like him or not. Jenna is the best friend any girl could ask for. Finally, Archer is just too awesome. He’s a bad ass, he is sexy, and he is nicely sarcastic. What more can you ask for?

Hawkins just knows how to make me laugh. It was the perfect book for me to read, after having spent the entire day working on a stupid essay. It just made me happy, distracted me, and entertained me.

All I can say is that I loved it. 10/10!

Last week was supposed to be a really good week. After all, it was March Break. Yet, I ended either working, sleeping or going to the gym, so I didn’t read as much as I would like. Still, I ended up buying a couple of books, to try to make me a little happier. (So many essays to write, so little time. *Sigh*)

Here it goes:
