Fade is a great sequel to a novel that really surprised me. Plus, it looks really great beside Wake on my shelf.
First of all, the plot was better than the first. I really enjoyed the fact that the story didn’t take as much time to begin. The plot was captivating to me; I just couldn’t stop reading this book. I love the fact that we get to know more about this Dream Catcher idea. Where the first was a little more about the relationship between Janie and Cabel, where this one has a mystery waiting to be solved. The ending is really great, and again, McMann knows how to finish a book nicely. It doesn’t leave the reader angry with the author. So many books made me angry, as the plot never got its ending.
Again, the characters are absolutely great. I love the relationship between Cabel and Janie, as it isn’t perfect, and that makes it more connectable. They are one of the greatest assets of this series, and I have nothing really bad to say about them.
Now that I am used to McMann’s writing, I’m really enjoy it. The style is really the same used in Wake. If you really couldn’t stand it, chances are high you wont in this one too.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. This series is extremely good, and I can’t wait for more. 9/10
